Kerr Set of 4 Sterling Silver Blotter Corners
Kerr set of 4 sterling silver blotter corners, from the late 19th or early 20th century, beautifully adorned with putti, cartouche, and stylized curvilinear motifs. They measure 4 1/2'' by 4 1/2'' by 6'' from one corner to the other and bear hallmarks as shown.
Kerr, a New Jersey-based silversmith founded in the 1880s, was a silversmith known for its Art Nouveau jewelry, vanity items, and holloware. In 1927, Gorham purchased the brand. Their work is present in the permanent collection of the Cooper Hewitt Museum.
