La Paglia International Sterling Silver Set of 8 Dessert Bowls in Mid-Century Modern Jensen Style
Designed by Alphonse La Paglia for International Sterling, set of 8 sterling silver dessert bowls in Mid-Century Modern and in Georg Jensen style, with elegant, geometric designs, adorned with stylized and pierced floral motifs at the base. The International Silver Company was formed in 1898 by various independent New England silversmiths that, between 1898 and 1903, joined themselves together to form a company that became the world's largest manufacturer of silverware. The International Silver Co. was organized with an authorized capital of $20,000,000.
Alphonse La Paglia (1907-1953), a Sicilian-born silversmith who studied and trained with Georg Jensen, designed this special line for International Sterling in 1952, for only 1 year.
