Cincinnati Art Museum's Amy Miller Dehan, Curator of Decorative Arts and Design, developed the museum's on exhibition: "Cincinnati Silver: 1788-1940" which was shown to the public in 2014. In her own words, " From the mid- to late nineteenth century, Cincinnati reigned as one of the great American centers for luxury silver ware. Although it is not as well remembered today, the great Cincinnati firm of Duhme & Co. (1843-1893, pronounced DEW-me) was a serious competitor of Tiffany & Co. of New York and Gorham Manufacturing Co. of Providence, Rhode Island." One of the 4 highlights of the show she decided upon was a tureen by Duhme, stating that it "is a testament to the superior design work and craftsmanship of Duhme & Co., Cincinnati's premier silver firm. A tour-de-force, it was proudly shown in Duhme & Co.'s display at the 1872 Cincinnati Industrial Exposition."
