This fine French tea and coffee service, by the
renowned Parisian firm Puiforcat, c. 1920, has a refined decorative form that
easily mixes with traditional or contemporary décor. Each piece is exquisitely
monogrammed matching the beautiful art deco style with nicely carved ebony
wooden handles. Marks: PUIFORCAT,
This set consists of: hot water samovar 18 inches
in height, chocolate pot 9 and 1/2 inches in height, tea pot 8 inches in
height, coffee pot 9 inches in height, cream jug 4 inches in height, covered
sugar bowl 6 inches in height, waste bowl 3 and 1/4 inches, and original
matching silver plated tray 28 and 1/2 inches handle to handle.
This set weighs 230 t oz. without the tray.
It is important to note French tea sets were typically
made with silver plated trays. The tray
with a shaped reeded and scrolled, stepped border, flanked by scrolled acanthus
and architectural handles, monogrammed to center.
