Dominick & Haff and Mauser 1903 Pair of Sterling Silver Candlesticks in Art Nouveau Style

Pair of Dominick & Haff / Mauser sterling silver candlesticks from 1903 in exquisite Art Nouveau style with raised natural motifs, measuring   10 1/4” in height by 4 1/2” in diameter at the base, and bearing hallmarks and monograms as shown. Dominick & Haff was an American silver manufacturer based in New York City. It was co-founded by Henry Blanchard Dominick and Leroy B. Haff in 1872, incorporated in 1889, and it was sold to Reed & Barton in 1928. The firm designed pots, mugs, centerpieces, spoons, tea sets and kettles. Shreve sterling silver bar tray in Art Moderne style from the 1920s with elegant pattern around the rim, pattern number 9505. Can also be used as a dish or plate. Measuring 12” in diameter and weighing 21.5 ozt. Bearing hallmarks as shown. Shreve & Company is an established retailer of jewelry, from timepieces to diamonds, headquartered in San Francisco, California. Incorporated in 1894 by George Rodman and Albert J. Lewis, it is considered the oldest commercial establishment in San Francisco. The San Francisco Museum and Historical Society has the silver spade used by San Francisco Mayor James Rolphe at the groundbreaking for city hall and the civic center, and other objects made by Shreve & Co.
