Pair of Spaulding & Co. sterling silver monumental centerpiece bowls in Art Nouveau style with an exquisitely ornate and pierced rim showcasing floral and palmette motifs, measuring 18'' in diameter (10'' in inner diameter) by 2 1/3'' in height and bearing hallmarks as shown. Total weight is 154 troy ounces.
Founded in 1888 by Henry A. Spaulding, Spaulding & Co., a Chicago-based firm, was owned by Gorham in the late 1920s to 1943. Well known as a jewelry retailer, Spaulding & Co. also manufactured and retailed sterling hollowware.
