William Dematteo Sterling Silver Pitcher

American art deco sterling silver water pitcher, hand hammered in style of Georg Jensen. The pitcher has an elegant touch, with ebony handle, very nice patina. The maker mark is very clear at the bottom as seen in the photographs The size of the pitcher is 10 inches in height and 8 inches in width. The weight is 27 t oz.

About DeMatteo: William G. DeMatteo is considered to have been one of New York's finest mid-century silversmiths. His hand wrought silver is always of fine quality. Another of his great achievements was training his son, William L DeMatteo, as a silversmith. William L. DeMatteo became the first master silversmith at Colonial Williamsburg.
